It took four years of trekking across the vast expanses of China for us to find what we were looking for: a region with the ideal terroir for genuinely world-class red wines. Located on the northern edges of China’s Yunnan province at the foothills of Himalayas, we found our very own Shangri-la. So emblematic from this incredible region of Shangri-La, the thick wandering clouds are an echo to Ao Yun’s name meaning “roaming above the clouds”.

Our vineyards are located in the UNESCO World heritage region of Three Parallel Rivers (the Yangtze, Mekong and Salween). They are situated in the villages of Adong, Xidang, Sinong and Shuori - just below the sacred Meili Mountain that culminates at 6’800 m - spread over 314 blocks on 27,7ha with complementary altitudes varying from 2’200 to 2’600 meters, in order to allow the Cabernet Sauvignon to give a unique expression like no other.
